AWARNESS ABOUT THE EYE DONATION.

WE ARE ALL ONE irrespective of sex, nation, language, religion, region. WE ARE ALL GOVERNED BY MANKIND. JOIN ME TO PRAY GOD 'EVERYBODY SHOULD GET EVEY THING FOR THEIR LIVELY HOOD' AND BEG THE THEE TO GIVE "PIECE OF MIND, HEALTH, WEALTH AND HAPPINESS TO ALL THE VIEWERS AND READERS" thanks a lot OM SHANTHI SHANTHI SHANTHI.

My father in-law who lived in Coimbatore-Jothipuram at the jurisdiction of Periyanaicken Police Limit had met an accident, on 13.8.2011 at around 3.00 P.M.when he crossed the Mettupalayam Road from Western side to Eastern side, a motorist who came from North to South hit him while he was on the mud road, he got fracture of both the bones in one of his legs, inner bleeding in right eye, it swelled and the same has been  unable to open.  He was given first aid at D.J.Clinic and then transferred to Government Hospital, Coimbatore.
Due to some reasons he was discharged and taken to private hospital namely RICHMOND hospital, situated at Trichy Road, Coimbatore, there he got treatment upto 21.8.11 and in order to avail the ESI facility he has been sifted to ESI Hospital, Varadarajapuram, Coimbatore, again  he has been referred to G.H.

On 21.8.ll he was admitted at G.H. at Critical Care Medical Unit and then transferred to MMIII ward No.62
under neprology [URINAL DEFECT] . Underwent treatment still his lost breath on 28.8.11 Sunday night at around 7.40.  I am the son-in-law is with him at the last moment.

After his last breath I informed the duty doctor who has attended him by 7.30 P.M. and on the routine check of other patients. The doctor also confirmed.

Since we are reading so many articles about the eye donation,I made a request to the doctor to make arrange for the eye donation, since the eye has to be taken  with in 4 to 6 hours.  But the duty doctor and the staff nurse at the time are not well aware of eye donation, I felt very sad rather than passing of my father in law, the possible is going to made impossible, I request them to find is there any possibility, some of them said since he is affected by urinal problem and accident victim it is not possible.  I made a request kindly consult the eye doctors.
Meanwhile I have been informed that  some procedures have to be followed, such as
1. Get the concurrence of  Close relatives,
2. Get permission from R.M.O.
3. Get a No-objection certificate from the Police Station of the concerned.

Of the above first we have to inform the Police station from the outpost at G.H. to Periyanaickenpalam,
then make a personal visit  and request the Station in charge to provide with a No objection certificate,
all these things should have been made available within 4 hours from the time of death.
By this time two hours has been gone, i.e. 10 PM, then I have to rush more than 20 kms. from G.H. to Periyanaickenpalayam by changing 2 buses and return back in the same manner which may take at least 3 hours.

All my efforts sunk and gone towards the eye donation.
Further I have been told, he should have made the eye donated by himself. which got registered and then therewill be no problem.

At this juncture I am of the opinion how deceased person inform the authorities to take the eyes unless and otherwise the relatives make available the  information to the concerned authorities.

THIS IS AN INFORMATION TO ALL WHO WANT TO DONATE EYE  TO LIVE AFTER DEATH,
AND BE INFORMED THE RELATIVES ABOUT THE  DONATED EYES.
FURTHER  MORE AT THE TIME OF GETTING SIGNATURES OF THE CARE TAKEN PERSON FOR CRITICAL POSITION   ONE MORE DECLARATION HAVE TO BE OBTAINED FOR THE DONATION OF EYE IN THE EVENT OF UNFORTUNATE.
